With the Dexter Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator - 1,000 psi # K71-650 or # K71-651, there are some electric brake controllers that don't work as seamlessly as others. The brakes staying engaged for a few seconds after you release the pedal is an indication of a compatibility issue with your controller. If you are using a factory integrated brake controller, that may be the issue. Many of them say they are compatible and yet have some issues like what you stated. I've attached a photo to help, but I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as a solution to your issue. It is very rare to have issues with this controller using any system.
