Recommended Bike Carrier For 3 Bikes On 2012 Honda Odyssey That Allows Cargo Area Access

Question:

Hi, looking for a hitch bike rack for a 2012 honda oddyssey, likely thule or yakima. Will they hold 20inch kids bikes? Looks like ill need the accessory bar. Wed have 2 additional adult bikes. Ive read that sometimes its a little crowded. Were looking at the tilting or swing away versions so we can access the back of the van. Thanks

The bike carrier I recommend for your 2012 Odyssey is the Thule Swing 4 Bike Rack # TH9027XT.

Since a concern may be room between the bikes I recommend this 4-bike option because it offers more spacing between the bikes than normal hanging racks. The Apex lets you swing the bike rack away from the back of the vehicle even with the bikes loaded so you have full access to the rear cargo area. For Bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance.
