Replacement 205/75-15 Sized Trailer Tires for 5,800 Pound Tandem Axle Trailer

Question:

Have a 7x14 enclosed trailer with 2 axles. Looking for some new tires, have 205 75 15 6 ply ones on there now, they seem to squat more than I think they should. Trailer and contents weight around 5800 lbs. what would be my best tire to get. Pull up and down interstate.

The 6 ply load range C tires you have on the trailer now should be able to support the weight of the trailer if it's 5,800 pounds. A good 205/75-15 sized 6 ply tire is the Provider # TTWTRTM2057515C. It has a max weight capacity of 1,820 pounds at 50 psi.

If you would rather go up to a load range D, 8 ply tire there's certainly no harm in it. I recommend # TR20515D which is rated for 2,150 pounds at 65 psi.

Both tires I suggested are radials which are optimal for highway use over a bias tire. They also have a max speed rating of 81 mph. It's important you stay within the speed rating as well as always inflate trailer tires to their maximum psi.
