If Grease is Gritty in Bearing Buddy Should Bearing Buddy Be Replaced

I have the 1980A bearing buddy,they are filled with grease and are gritty.Can I clean them? or should I replace them?

If there is possible metal shavings or dirt inside the Bearing Buddy the best recommendation I can make is to replace what you have so that you don't end up missing something small while cleaning that would end up damaging the bearings. It's basically a cheap insurance policy.
For a replacement you would want the part # BB1980A.
