What Fifth-Wheel Adapter Will Work for Curt Q20 in 2017 Ford F-350 With Prep Package?
Question:
Last year I bought a Q20 5th wheel hitch from you for my 2004 Ford F350 8 foot bed with an in-bed rail kit , and now I am buying a new truck. It looks like either adapter c16017 from Curt or the Reese RP30156 will allow me use of the hitch in my new truck, a 2017 Ford F350 4X4 with the Ford Hitch Prep Kit; 8 foot Bed First, is it true the Reese part will work with my original Curt Q20 legs? I may want to go back and forth between the two trucks with the hitch. Is one adapter or the other easier to switch between the 2017 Ford Prep package and the in bed rail system in my 2004 Ford?

Helpful Expert Reply:
You are absolutely correct that both adapters, the Curt Legs, # C16017, and the Reese Elite, # RP30156, will work with the Curt Q20, # C16130, on your new 2017 Ford F-350 with the Ford Hitch Prep Kit.
As for ease of use when you want to transfer your hitch between trucks, the Reese is going to be much simpler because the Curt will require you to bolt and unbolt the legs each time, which won't be necessary when using the Reese.
