Can HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator For Drum Brakes Be Used For Disc Brakes
Question:
I was told I should use the 1200 psi Hydrastar electric over hydraulic actuator on my trailer even though it says its for drum brakes and I have disc., I have a 1400# empty weight travel trailer with tandem axle. has 2000# flexride torsion axles. I have Kodiak disc brakes on one axle.

Since you have disc brakes on your trailer you must use a disc brake actuator like part # HBA16.
The problem is that with an actuator like part # HBA-12, it will not provide enough pressure to actuate the brakes. The maximum output pressure for the # HBA-12 is 1,200 psi while the maximum pressure for the # HBA16 is 1,600 psi.
