Will Hollywood Racks Road Runner 4 Bike Carrier Work with 2005 Honda Pilot

Question:

HR400 Can you please confirm or deny that the Hollywood Road Runner Rack will work with a 2inch hitch on a 2005 Honda Pilot? The QandA seemed to indicate it would, but it does not appear in the top 10inch list for Honda Pilots. It also did not appear in the compatibility list on the Hollywood web site though I could not tell if that was just for mounted bike carriers. Thank you!

Since you have a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver installed on your 2005 Honda Pilot, the Hollywood Racks Road Runner 4 Bike Carrier # HR400 mentioned in your question will work great and fit perfectly with the hitch on your vehicle. It has a generous distance of 10-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the bike rack when installed, which means there will be no clearance issues with the rack and the rear bumper on your Pilot.

This bike rack can carry up to 4 bikes with a total weight of 150 pounds. The tilting upright mast will allow for easy rear cargo access and the included hitch lock and cable lock will secure everything into place and help to deter theft.

The fitguide you mentioned for Hollywood Racks does refer to trunk-mounted options, which are typically tested and fit for specific vehicle models. Hitch-mounted bike racks like this one are more universal, and will be compatible as long as the trailer hitch and vehicle weight capacities are enough to handle its load. You will have no problem using this bike rack on your vehicle and it really is a great choice.

One thing you may need if you plan on transporting any children's, woman's or alternative frame bikes is an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for level transport and improved ground clearance. I have attached a video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it works and why it might be needed.

I have included a video demonstration on the bike rack for you to check out as well.
