What is the Weight Capacity Range for the Curt Weight Distribution System part # C17501

Question:

Item #C 17501.. On specification sheet it says that tounge weight is 1,000-1,500. Is that the range of the tounge weight that the item can hold? Does the item only rated for 1,500 lbs?

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

So ideally if your trailer's tongue weight fell right in the middle of that range of 1,000 to 1,500 lb the # C17501 would be perfect.

If you were over 1,500 lbs the system really wouldn't be effective, if you were under the ride would be incredibly rough.
