Will Thule Hitching Post Pro Work With Class ll Hitch On 2017 Kia Sportage
Question:
I just received the Curt 1 1/4 tow hitch Class II for my Kia Sportage 2017. I purchased it because I have a Thule 1 1/4 2 bike rack. I decided I need to get a 4 bike rack and I was looking at the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 bike that you have. It says you can only load 2 bikes on a Class I hitch. I have 2 Cruiser bikes and 2 smaller mountain bikes. Is that going to be too much weight for the Curt 1 1/4 hitch? I hope not because otherwise Im going to have to return this one and get a different one. Thank you

The Curt Class ll Hitch # C12158 we offer for your 2017 Sportage is capable of carrying 4 bikes. The note about Class l hitches does not apply to the # C12158.
The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR will work with the 1-1/4 inch receiver you have on your vehicle. The bike carrier does have a weight capacity of 35 lbs for each bike.
If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance. I have attached a product review video for this adapter bar.
Also to secure the carrier to your trailer hitch you might be interested in the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device, part # THSTL2.
