Dual Hitch Setup Recommendation that Doesn't Cut Hitch Capacity
Question:
So I get this home, open it up and the top Hitch portion for the cargo carrier says Do not put a cargo carrier over 500Lbs including contents onto the Hitch. However, the bottom hitch extender says it has a max tongue weight of 350 Lbs? Am I understanding this wrong? Shouldnt the top sticker say not to put anything over 350 Lbs for the Cargo basket if the Max weight on the Extender hitch is 350 Lbs? In a perfect world, Id like to put 300 - 400 lbs on the Top hitch, and tow a pop up that has a tongue weight of 200 Lbs. Is this not possible? My Toyota Sequoia can handle 700 Lbs Tongue. I know the extender reduces it to 350 but maybe the 500 Lbs will apply to the sequoia tongue weight and not the extender which is only 350 Lbs?

I have a better solution for you based on your needs. The # D210 is a similar adapter but since the lower portion is a ball mount platform it does not cut the capacity of the hitch it is installed in by 50 percent like the part # D-192 does.
This has a total tongue weight capacity of 750 lbs and a trailer weight capacity of 7,500 lbs so it would be a great option.
The # D-192 has a combined tongue weight rate of 350 lbs.
