Replacement Brakes For 2012 Forest River Travel Trailer With Lippert 3500 Lb Axles

Question:

I need to replace all 4 brakes on my 2012 forest river wildwood travel trailer. Axles are lippert 3500# with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern, I have not done the brakes before and was wondering if I can get a complete list of what I will need to complete the job correctly. Thanks

To pick out the correct brake assemblies for your trailer you need to know a few things.

You will want to measure the inner diameter of your hub/drums and the depth of the drums to determine what brake assembly dimensions you need. I have attached a photo that shows where you can measure.

For example part # AKEBRK-35-SA are 10 x 2-1/4 inch electric brakes that will fit 13 to 15 inch wheels. This number includes the driver and passenger side assemblies. You also want to determine what the bolt pattern is of your brake mounting flange. The standard size is 4 on 4 inch. The # AKEBRK-35-SA brakes have a 4 bolt brake flange.
