Which Leaf Springs Should I Use For Tandem 2,000 Pound Capacity Axles And 5.30x12 Tires/Wheels

Question:

I bought a partial trailer a couple of years ago and stripped it down for parts. The leave springs were pretty rusty so I scrap those but kept four new tires and rims and two 2000lb axels. Now that its been a couple of years I cant remember what length or size leaf springs I had. I am wanting to build a new tandem axel trailer with my parts. My question is what size leaf springs should I be using with two 2000 pound axles with four 5.30x12 tires and wheels to get the accurate spacing of the tires?

Helpful Expert Reply:

For your new build with 2,000 lb axles, I recommend the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 3-1/4" Front/Rear/Center # APT5 along with the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles - 20-3/8" Long # e84SR. This combination will give you proper distance for your 5.30x12 tires and wheels with a distance on center of 29-1/2 inches.

I've attached a photo of the dimensions to assist.
