Recommended Fenders for Size 205/65-10 Tires on Trailer

Question:

I believe the wheel width is 8.3 inches. So does that mean I need a fender of at least 8.5 in or wider?

Expert Reply:

With a tire width of 8.3 inches, it is wise to use a wider fender like the Single Axle Trailer Fender - Jeep Style # CE18041ATB which is 10 inches wide to give you that slightly wider protection. That will help shield your tire and protect your trailer from road debris. The single axle fender # J10821 which are also 10 inches wide. I recommend the wider coverage as tires expand a little when hot due to both road friction and ambient temperature.

You do not want a fender narrower than your tire as it won't be able to accomplish its job. You may also want the fender mounting brackets like # CE26098G for your 205/65-10 tires.
