The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 has a built in troubleshooting function that will display a set of codes that represent various faults in the controller. According to the owner's manual for this controller, the "E.r" fault code represents that there is an internal problem within the brake controller causing it to become inoperable. It is recommended that you return the brake controller to the manufacturer for service.
