Installing a Trailer Connector on a 2004 Dodge Ram
Question:
I have a 2004 Dodge ram Laramie and I am replacing the wiring harness with an aftermarket wiring harness 7 pin. The wires I have to work with are white with a green stripe, lt green, dark green, red with purple stripe, brown, yellow, black and black. Which wire does what?

Vehicle manufacturers rarely have or use any type of standard wire color code. The only way to be sure you have the correct circuit to install a trailer connector is to do it by function. You'll need to test each wire using a circuit tester like # PTW2993.
