Bike Rack Comparison to Fit 1-1/4 Inch Hitch Receiver on a 2008 Lexus IS250
Question:
Im looking for a bike rack. I have a 2008 Lexus IS250. I entered this on your website to find out what racks works best for my car. I have a 1 1/4 hitch and need a rack for 2 bikes. One of the recommendations on your site was not found when I entered in Swagman Trailhead S63360. I was wondering if the XTC S64670 would work or if you have other recommendations. I also looked at the Kuat B202-114. Thank you.

There are a few advantages and disadvantages between each rack that you mentioned. The Swagman XTC # S64670 is a platform rack which is the main difference from the other two. This makes the rack easier to load bikes onto but also can make the rack heavier. The XTC also does not fold away from the vehicle to help access the trunk of your 2008 Lexus IS250.
The Kuat Beta # B202-114 and the Swagman Trailhead # S63360 are both hanging bike racks. They also tilt away from the Lexus. Hanging rack are generally easier to install into the hitch because they're lighter (The Kuat only weighs about 12-1/2 pounds). However, for a bike to hang level on a hanging rack it needs to have a straight horizontal cross tube like a typical men's bike. Women's, children's, and other alternative frame bikes often don't fit or ride level. You can solve this issue by adding a bike frame adapter bar like the Kuat Ubar # UB01.
I've linked videos of each rack for you to take a look at as well.
