Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with a Curt Gooseneck Hitch Installed in Truck

Question:

I have a Curt gooseneck removable ball in my truck. I need to convert to a fifth wheel sometimes. Will the BandW fifth wheel companion hitch fit into the square hole of the Curt? Or do I need the Curt removable rails? My truck has a sprayed in bed liner. Will this affect fit? What is my best option?

The B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 is only compatible with their Turnoverball gooseneck hitches.

One option you can use is the Curt X5 # C16210. This will provide you with fifth wheel base rails in your truck's bed. Then you can use a fifth wheel hitch that fits industry standard rails like the B&W Patriot # BWRVK3255.

Another option may be to replace the pin box on the trailer with a Reese Goose Box. This will allow the trailer to connector directly to the gooseneck hitch in the trailer. You'll need the model number of your pin box if you decide to go this route. I've linked our selection of Goose Boxes for you as well.
