Supplemental Braking System Recommendation for 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Being Flat Towed
Question:
I am going to be flat towing a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee behind a deisel pusher RV. Do I need a brake assist system or will the RVs brake system handle it as long as I stay well under the CGVR? Thanks...

Expert Reply:
Most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
