5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Install Kit for a 2015 Ford F-150 5-1/2 Foot Bed with AirLift Air Bags

I have an air ride AL57284 air suspension system installed in my 2015 Ford F150 4WD, 4 DR, 5 1/2 ft bed truck. Im looking to install a 5th wheel hitch. Which systems are compatible? I plan on towing a 2018 Prime time Crusader 295RST camper

The AirLift air bag system # AL57268 for your 2015 Ford F-150 mounts to the bottom of the truck frame which means that a 5th wheel installation kit such as # RP50087-58 can be installed without interference!

As far as a 5th wheel hitch the above installation kit will accept any hitch that fits in above the bed rails. But since your truck has the 5-1/2 foot bed you will want a set up that allows for the most turning clearance.

I have looked up your trailer and it has their SUPER TURN Aerodynamic Front Cap which will help with turning clearance but ultimately on the super short beds it won't be enough by itself to make 90 degree turns without the trailer hitting the truck cab.

What I recommend to ensure this doesn't happen to you while you are out trying to enjoy your vacation is the Demco 13K Hijacker # DM8550040. This hitch is a slider but it slides automatically and has up to 22-1/2 inches of travel. That much travel plus the tapered front cap on the trailer will prevent the trailer from making contact with the truck and also prevent costly repair bills and keep the family happy!
