Replacement 5th Wheel Pin Box for Increased Turning Clearance in 2012 Ford F-250 Short Bed
Question:
Hello. I have a Lippert pinbox 1116 with a Reese rp30051 slider in a 2012 Ford F250 short bed. I need a solution for more distance in the bed on tight maneuvering. I placed my slinder in the maneuvering location, locked position and still busted my back glass while backing in a tight spot. Do ypu make a longer pinbox to replace the Lippert 1116? Thanks

A longer pin box isn't available however I do have a solution for you.
To gain turning clearance you can replace your Lippert 1116 pin box with a Reese Sidewinder. Use # RP61412 for the 16,000 pound model. A Sidewinder will move the pivot point of the hitch back 22 inches giving you more turning clearance instead of just the 10 inches you get from the Reese # RP30051.
You won't want to slide your hitch with the Sidewinder. That will create too much movement. You can either leave the hitch in its forward position, or replace the sliding base with legs # RP30727.
