5-Way Trailer Wiring Connector Replacement for Trailer Where 5-Way Fell Off
Question:
Driving down the road, my 5 prong trailer plug came unfastened from the adapter connected to the truck, dragging the ground for several miles and coming off. Id like to rewire a new 5 prong adapter on. I have the following wiring arrangement : - 4 white wires - 3 brown wires - 1 yellow wire - 1 blue wire - 1 green wire

Expert Reply:
So the white wires are the ground wires most likely, the brown wires are the running light circuit most likely, the yellow is left turn/stop, the green is right turn/stop and the blue wire should be reverse lockout or brake output depending on your trailer's brake style.
For a new 5-way you would want the part # HM47913 and you would wire it by color to your trailer's wires as they colors appear to be the same.
