For installing a brake controller in your 2017 GMC Canyon there is no plug present under the dash, but the needed wires are already run. You will connect the brake controller wiring with the vehicle wiring already present under the dash. It's up above the brake pedal.

If you check out the attached video link you can see the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 installed in a similar GMC Canyon and you can see exactly where the wiring is and the entire install process.

The question was for a 2017 Canyon. I have an 18. The video is for a 2010. I looked under dash and don’t see any wires. Any videos for newer models?

We don't have any install videos on the newer Canyons but I checked the owner's manual for your 2018 model and it looks like the 4-wire harness should be secured behind the left side kick panel. You'll have to remove the kick panel first by pulling at the front end and lifting up until it disengages. If you want to check out this section in your copy of the manual it starts on page 263.

Jameson C, Your information is incorrect On a 2017, the 4 wires are located behind the drivers kick panel , Not above the brake pedal

@MikeW What year truck do you have? Does it have a factory 7-way at the rear of it?
