Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Compatible With RV Use

The Thule bike racks all have tilting or folding storage functions that are great for car or truck use, but there is far more torque put on the rack when placed on an RV due to the size of the trailer or motorhome.

I have a few favorites that are compatible. For the platform style rack, I recommend the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches # S44FR. This rack has a mast that folds down when not in use, and uses a combination hitch and cable lock to secure your bikes. The bikes ride with wheels in the cradles and the hook ratcheted to your bike frames.

For a hanging bike rack, I recommend the Yakima LongHaul 4 bike Rack # Y02476. This rack also has the hitch lock and integrated LockDown cable system to deter theft. It has SuperCush cradles that have anti-sway and hold your bike with ratcheting ZipStrips. I recommend using the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005 to give you secure level transport and ground clearance.
