How To Carry Two Electric Bikes With Fat Tires On A Rear Mounted Hitch Receiver
Question:
I am trying to find an electric bike rack that can accommodate fat bike tires and 2 bikes weighing about 55 lbs a piece. It needs to be very sturdy very little to no wobble and have the bars the come over top of the tires to hold them in place on at least on side of each bike. Any Ideas? I know its an odd combo which is why I am having trouble. Thanks!

I do have a few bike rack option for you to consider that are capable of carrying multiple electric bikes with fat tires up to 4.8" wide.
I recommend using the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack part # NV22G as it holds the bikes by the front and rear wheels with no contact points on the frame. In addition to it's mounting style, the Kuat NV is capable of carrying bikes weighing up to 60 lbs. It will also include one adapter to allow for a tire width of 4-13/16". If your second bike is also a fat tire, you will want the Phat Bike Adapter Kit part # APBK to secure it. This bike rack is rated for a 2" inch hitch receiver, if you have a 1-1/4" inch hitch receiver you will need part # NV12G.
The other option to consider is our Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack part # HLY84FR. This is an excellent option as it has both a tilt and folding option for storage in addition to a keyed-alike locking mechanism for theft deterrence. In addition to the storage and theft deterrence capabilities, it also has an integrated anti rattle handle that is designed to reduce movement of the rack in the hitch receiver. This rack is only designed to work with 2" inch hitch receivers and does not feature the wheel clamp you mentioned.
