Is a Custom Wiring Harness Available for a Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller on 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I am planning on buying a Tekonsha P3 brake controller. I was curious if there is a custom wiring harness available for my vehicle - a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a stock tow package receiver with a 7-way trailer input. Thank you for your help!

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller, # 90195, is an excellent choice, but as of right now, most custom harnesses for brake controllers happen to be for newer vehicles, so we do not currently have a custom wiring harness for your 1993 Grand Cherokee.

However, we can help you get all the hardware you need to install the brake controller on your 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Wiring Kit # 5506. The kit includes wire, circuit breakers, and attaching terminals. The wire is going to connect the brake controller to your Jeep's battery to power and ground the unit, which will take care of the black and white wires on the controller harness.

For the brake controller signal wire, your Jeep will have a pre-run wire from the 7-way connector. The blue wire in the harness will connect to the pre-ran wire - which is typically found behind the driver's side left kick panel - so the trailer brakes activate when the controller is telling them to.

For the stoplight signal wire - the red wire in the harness - you will need to find the stoplight wire at the back of the brake pedal that only has power when the brake pedal gets pressed. A circuit tester such as # PTW2993 will help determine which is the correct stoplight wire to tap into.
