Adding a 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness to a 2009 Lexus RX 350 without Factory Tow Package

Question:

How do you wire a 18002 four pole connector on a 2009 Lexus R-350 with no tow ready package? Watched your video on wiring a 2007 tow ready package, would like whats involve. I need to have the part and installed by next Wednesday. Thats what I am hoping for. Thanks

Since your 2009 Lexus RX 350 does not have the factory tow package there is actually an easier solution to adding a 4-Way flat connector. You can use T-One harness # 118478. It plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring and requires a direct connection to the vehicle battery to power the trailer lights and protect the vehicle electrical system. I linked a video showing how it installs.

Harness # 18002 would not work on a model without the factory tow package. The reason is that with the factory tow package wiring the 18002 can be wired to the factory system without the need of a converter. On models without the factory tow package that wiring is not present (or if present it isn't active).
