Recommended Weight Distribution System With Sway Control For 3100-Lb Travel Trailer

just acquired a 2017 toyota highlander and want to know what weight dist/sway control system is best for this vehicle with a 3100lbs TT thanks

The best way to determine what system will work for you is to know what your total tongue weight is. The total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully-loaded-ready-to-tow trailer added to the weight of any cargo you place behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. You will then want to find a system where your total tongue weight falls near the middle of the tongue weight range for the system. Getting a system that is too small will be useless, but getting a system that is too big will result in a stiff, uncomfortable experience.

The weight distribution system I recommend is the Equal-I-zer # EQ37060ET. This system is designed for tongue weight between 200 and 600-lbs. The system has built-in 4-point sway control that helps when traveling in high winds or passing big trucks.

To make installing the hitch ball easier I recommend the thin-walled socket # EQ70-00-4800.
