We currently sell two types of coolers for your 1999 Jeep Cherokee. You can either purchase an engine oil or transmission cooler for your Jeep. I recommend you choose the largest cooler you have space for. Generally speaking, the best place to install an aftermarket cooler is in front of the radiator/condenser behind the grill.
For an engine oil cooler, I recommend the Derale Plate-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Adjustable Sandwich Adapter part # D15405. The dimensions of this cooler are 9-7/8" Wide x 9-1/2" Tall x 1-1/4" Deep. It will include everything needed for installation.
For a transmission cooler, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13502 with dimensions of 11" Wide x 7-1/4" Tall x 7/8" Thick. In order to install this part on your vehicle, you will also need the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings part # D13028 for 3/8" lines.
If you wish to install both an engine oil and transmission cooler using the same system, I recommend the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler with Multiple Threads part # D15902 with dimensions of 17" Wide x 12-1/2" Tall x 3/4" Thick.
I have attached a help article for installing both an engine oil and transmission cooler for your review.
