Brake Controller Installation in 2012 Kia Soul
Question:
I added the fuse tap to the interior fuse box on the switch LP fuse but the controller does not work with the brake depressed. Only works manually. What fuse do I tap into on a 2012 Kia Soul+ ? And is the correct fuse located in the interior or exterior fuse box? Your help would be so much appreciated!

In order to have a fuse tap provide the trigger signal to activate a trailer brake controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 the circuit has to be a dedicated one, meaning that no other function can be protected by that fuse. It has to be just for the brake light circuit.
I reviewed an online edition of the owner's manual for the 2012 Kia Soul and one page 7-60 it notes that stop lamp switch is fused along with several other circuits.
You will instead want to use the rear CHMSL light wiring (center high-mount stop light) at the rear of the car to deliver your brake light signal for the controller.
Note Kia does not recommend towing a trailer with this vehicle.
