Pin Box Solution for Lippert 1621 to Allow More Turning Clearance

Question:

Am I correct that the Lippert Flex Air 18k 1621 is a long jaw pin box Model No. 328492 or is there a different model no. for the long jaw pin box. I have 2010 Forest River 3150 Cardinal fifth wheel trailer and am pulling it with a short-bed 2015 GMC 3/4 ton diesel pickup truck. There is currently a Lippert Roto-flex pin box on the unit and I have had no problems in turning the unit and it coming in contact with the cab of the truck. I would however like a little more distance, just to be sure of avoiding contact and it is my understanding that the 1621 long jaw will provide an additional 6-8inch clearance. I do have slider hitch, but have never had to employ the slide feature. Thanks for your review and response.

I have a great solution for you that will allow you to not have to ever use a slider hitch. The Sidewinder part # RP34FR will replace your Lippert 1621 and will provide you with 22-1/2 inches of additional turning clearance.

The FlexAir for a 1621 will not give additional clearance over a standard 1621 pin box.

I attached an install video for the Sidewinder and it shows how it works as well.
