Can a Trailer Battery be Charged with a 7-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
how can I charge my trailer aux battery from a 7 pin connection?

Expert Reply:
The 12 volt power circuit of your 7-way would not be able to charge a dead trailer battery, but it can put a light maintenance charge on it so that it stays topped off while you are travelling. The circuit is most likely protected by a 40 amp fuse, but that does not mean that it can provide 40 amps of charging power to your battery. That just means that if something tried to draw more than 40 amps the fuse would pop.
For a charger that you could use to charge your battery when it is parked you would want the CTEK part # CTEK56353.
