Can a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit in 2014 Ram 1500 5-1/2 Foot Bed with Ecodiesel and Air Suspension

Hi, Can I install normal 5th wheel rails on this truck? I have heard there may be an issue caused be the air suspension bags?

Yes, a fifth wheel hitch can be installed into your 2014 Ram 1500 that has the air suspension system. However, not all bracket kits will be compatible so you must choose one designed to work specifically with the suspension.

I recommend the Reese Custom Install Kit # RP50142-58. This includes the brackets and rails and will work great with your truck. The rails are industry standard rails so they'll fit the majority of fifth wheel hitches.

Since you have the 5-1/2 foot bed we recommend using a fixed hitch with a Sidewinder or Revolution pin box on your trailer. This will be the best combination for you to have enough clearance between the trailer and truck cab to execute sharp turns. If you'd like I can recommend the correct Sidewinder if you can provide me with the trailer's current pin box model number.
