Best Way to Carry Bikes Cross Country on a 2015 Subaru Forester
Question:
I drive a 2015 Subaru Forrester. I need a rack that can handle a cross country move from Tampa FL to Portland OR - Can the Thule TH910XT handle that long of a drive? I dont have a tow hitch, and need the roof for a luggage carrier. Thanks

The Thule Passage Trunk Mount Bike Carrier # TH910XT can handle a long trip but I recommend checking it frequently just to make sure it's secure. Similarly I would do the same to the cargo on the roof of the car.
With that being said that's a long time to have weight sitting on the back of your 2015 Subaru Forester. I'd be more concerned about any damage to the vehicle than I would be the rack's stability.
You may want to consider adding a trailer hitch receiver and getting a hitch mounted bike rack. A hitch mount rack is much more stable and there's no contact with the Forester. Also, if you choose the right rack, it will make it a lot easier to access the rear cargo area when stopping.
I recommend installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75876 to carry the bike rack. The hitch is custom designed for your Subaru and doesn't require any drilling for installation.
Then for the bike rack I like the reliable and cost effect Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR.
