Intermittent Fuse Failure With Left and Right Stop/Turn Signals With Bragman LED Tail Lights

Question:

What is the total amps consumption per each Bargman 47-84-610 LED stop light assembly? I am having intermitting fuse failure at times for left and right stop turn signals not at the same time. The circuit for the stop turn signal has a 10 amp fuse for each left and right light assembly.

For the Bargman LED # 47-84-610, each of the light housings for the LED lights has 16 LEDs so with the double tail lights each of these assemblies has 32 LEDs that illuminate. With high illumination this assembly would have a draw around .26 amps and at low illumination that draw would be about .02 amps.

There is no reason with that low a draw that your 10 amp fuses would be failing, so you have a short somewhere in your wiring. I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to probe your wires to find the culprit and replace the wire as needed. It sounds like your power wire is hitting a ground somewhere and completing a circuit to blow that fuse. This could be at the trailer connection of your vehicle or on the trailer itself. Sometimes corrosion in the connection can cause an issue like this. I recommend cleaning those connections thoroughly as well.
