I can explain how to install Hopkins trailer wiring harness # 46255 on your 2005 Saab 9-3. The trailer wiring harnesses for your Saab are all universal hardwire systems so while they do have instructions, they are not vehicle-specific instructions.
Basically, you will test the vehicle tail light wiring to determine the functions of the wires so you can splice in the wires from the harness. The Hopkins harness does not come with a circuit tester so you can either add one using # PTW2993 or if you have a meter, you can use it to test the wiring.
Someone will need to sit in the vehicle and go through the various light functions while you test the taillight wiring to determine the functions. Once you have identified a brake light wire, running light wire, left turn signal wire, and right turn signal wire you can use the included quick splice connectors to attach the wiring harness:
Yellow goes to left turn signal
Green goes to right turn signal
Brown goes to running lights
Red (without butt connector) goes to brake light
White is ground (attach to bare metal surface)
There is a second red wire that will need to be connected to the positive battery terminal. Extra wire, a fuse holder, and a fuse are included for this. The very last step of this installation should be inserting the fuse in the fuse holder. I have included a link to the installation instructions as well.
