Will Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Trike Carrier Work With OEM Hitch On 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan

I am thinking of the Hollywood rack to transport a Catrike Expedition. I noticed that it requires at least a class II hitch. Can you tell me if a VW Tiguan OEM hitch is class I or II? If not what are my options to replace the OEM hitch?

There should be a sticker or label or plate on the OEM trailer hitch you have on your 2016 Tiguan. If you cannot find the label you can call the dealership and they would be able to tell you what Class hitch was installed on your vehicle.
If you measure the receiver opening on your hitch and it measures 1-1/4 inches it could be a Class l or Class ll. If you have a 2-inch receiver opening then you can be safe in assuming it is a Class ll or Class lll. We have both Class ll and Class lll hitches that are confirmed as a fit for your 2016.
The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider # HR1000Z-R-TRKADP can carry a tadpole-style bike or a recumbent delta trike, or 2 recumbent bikes. The maximum wheelbase that will work is 74-inches and maximum tire width is 3-inches.
