Adapter Recommendation for German Vehicle Towing Trailer with LED Lights

Question:

I was told by my Mercedes dealer that the LED lights on my trailer do not offer enough resistance to work with my 2010 GL450 electronics. Apparently there is a resistor adapter that need to plug in to between the trailer lights and the car outlet? Is that true and if so where do I get one?

You were told correct information. The problem with the Mercedes vehicles and trailer's with LED lights is that the LEDs put such a small amount of draw on the circuits that the vehicle ends up thinking that a taillight bulb has blown out.

For a 7-way adapter designed for German vehicles towing LED lighted trailer to prevent the bulb out error message we have the part # C57003.

For an adapter that plugs into a 7-way and then provides a 4-way we have the part # C35FR.
