How to Select RV Exterior Ladder for 2017 Keystone Cougar Xlite 33 MLS

Question:

I have a new 2017 Keystone Cougar Xlite 33 MLS that was purchased without a rear ladder for roof access. I am trying to learn if the LA-401BA model ladder you represent will fit my trailer. If so, do you have one in stock? Thank you kindly for you reply.

RV exterior ladders like those shown on the linked page are all general-purpose products that are designed to work on as wide a range of trailers and RVs as possible. None of these is a direct exact replacement for an OEM ladder but certainly at least one these aftermarket products should be usable for your Cougar.

The main things to consider are the shape of the RV exterior (straight or curved) and the overall ladder height. We have curved ladder # SP501L and several models for RVs with a flat exterior, such as # LA-401BA.

The most important thing to do is confirm with Keystone where your RV's structural parts are located since the ladder MUST be mounted to more than just the RV's outer skin. It needs to be attached to structural components that are strong enough to handle the weight load to be put on the ladder.

Usually if you contact them with the VIN you can find out the best place to mount the ladder. They can also probably recommend the appropriate size hardware. I suggest stainless steel hardware to mount a ladder since it will be exposed to the elements. Your local dealer may be able to help too.
