Hopkins Agility Brake Controller Installation in 2015 GMC Savana
Question:
I am installing the HM47295 Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller - Hardwire - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional. Do you have a video with a close up for finding the brake switch wires which I need to splice into? Thanks.

The only reliable way to find the correct wires at a brake light switch to connect a brake controller is to test them with a tester like # PTW2993. Wire colors can vary across production runs and so it is best not to try to install the Agility # HM47295 based on wire colors.
The red wire on the controller connects to the COLD side of the brake light switch. This is the wire that carries a 12V signal ONLY when the brake pedal is pressed, and at no other time.
If you cannot find this wire an alternative installation is to use a fuse tap # F2526 to tap into the brake light circuit. This gives the controller the same brake light signal, just from a different point in the circuit. Please refer to the 18-minute mark of the linked video.
