For your 2000 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4x4, I recommend the Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs - Rear Axle # AL59501. This system has a 2,000 lb capacity and requires 6 inches from the outside of the frame to the inside of the tire. This is not compatible with an in bed hitch.
For either air spring option, I recommend the Firestone Air Command I - Analog Gauge w/ Standard-Duty Compressor - Single Function - 130 psi # F2158. This will allow you to adjust the air pressure in your springs from the cab. If you desire to adjust the springs individually for off-center loads, I recommend the dual function # F2178.
