Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for 2008 Toyota Tundra with Collar Around Hitch Opening

Question:

Hi, I have a receiver hitch on my 2008 Tundra that has a bracket around the opening of the receiver hitch. It frames the hitch by 3/4inch all the way around. Will the spring loaded pin be able to reach the pin hole? Does the angle of the arm pin elbow around the frame to reach the receiver pin hole? I have included a picture.

I have a great bike rack solution I can provide for your 2008 Toyota Tundra, but that bracket that goes around the edge of the hitch tube is going to be too thick for the arm of the Thule T2's AutoAttach system to reach the pin hole.

Instead check out the the Saris SuperClamp EX part # SA4025F. This rack is similar in that it is a platform bike rack that only touches the bike at the tires but it's considerably lighter at 35 lbs compared to the T2 which weighs 52 lbs.
