Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in 2015 Honda Pilot without Factory 7-Way
Question:
I have an aftermarket 4-way wiring harness that I want to switch to a 7-way harness in order to install a brake controller for towing an RV. I am planning on using ETBC7 installation kit. I want to install the Tekonsha P2 and would like to use the Brake Control Wiring Adapter for Honda 3070-P for easier installation. But, I am wondering if I will not be able to use the connection under the dash because my Pilot does not have the factory 7-way. If I have to install the brake controller by wiring to the 7-way and underneath the car to the battery, is there any easy way to do this? Thank you!

Since your 2015 Honda Pilot did not originally come with any trailer wiring that means the port is either not present under the dash or if it was there it would not be active. That means that in order to install a brake controller you will need to use the # ETBC7 which you mentioned.
I attached an install video that shows this being installed on a similar Honda Pilot as yours thats a few years older for you to check out.
The P2 part # 90885 is a great controller for your vehicle though. This is one of our best selling controllers because of how well it works and how reliable it is. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.
