Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2002 38 Foot Freightliner Bus

Question:

I have a 38foot bus, 2002 Thomas flat nose Front engine, 70 passenger, Freightliner undercarriage, I would like to put a hitch on the rear with max towing ability. Outside to outside on the C channels is 34inch width. from the bottom of the C to the ground is aprox 28. I can send pictures. Please recommend a hitch. I plan on towing a trailer at first then a toad. Thank you

With a 34 inch frame I suggest the Draw-Tite # 41990-07. It will fit frames up to 44 inches wide. It's a 2 inch, Class V hitch receiver with 7 inch brackets. If you need more drop instead use # 41990-16 which has 16 inch brackets.

Both hitches require welding for installation. I recommend the work be performed by a certified experienced welder.
