Comparing Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution with Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution
Question:
I need to upgrade from the current 10k/1k equalizer WD/ sway system to one that will accommodate a heavier hitch weight - so going to need a 12k/1.2k hitch. I have been happy withe equalizer but dont have tools to do necessary torquing over time. I see very little information about actual users reviewing the steadi flex. Is it really going to have the same performance as the equalizer when towing? I am going from a 26 ft 4800 lbs travel trailer to a 33 ft 6500 lbs travel trailer. Having control while towing is obviously going to be even more crucial due to longer trailer. Any feedback? Thank you

The Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution systems, including # RP66560, are relatively new so that accounts for the lack of customer reviews on them. I have experienced this system first hand though and it works quite well and is very easy to use; especially for someone like you who has experience using weight distribution systems.
It and the Equal-I-zer systems work in much the same way. The Equal-I-zer systems have more metal on metal contact that does require a lot of adjustment and can be noisy. The Steadi-Flex uses brake pad-type material for the sway control instead of metal on metal contact. You can see it in action in the video I have linked for you.
This Steadi-Flex system does not include a ball but you could reuse the one you currently have or add # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball that is compatible with the system.
