Is Offset Coupler Adapter Needed for 6-1/2-Foot-Bed 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup Towing 5th Wheel
Question:
I have a 2004 dodge 2500 6.5 bed. I have a goose neck hitch I also bought a 8 in goose neck extension ranch hitch. My kingpin box is 41.5 in. In diagonal length. Do I need the 8 in extension or could I go with a straight down hitch

Expert Reply:
Unless the nose of your 5th wheel trailer is tapered to provide improved turning clearance you will be better off towing with your 6-1/2-foot-bed Ram 2500 using the offset coupler adapter from Ranch Hitch, part # AM3139.
If you had a long-bed truck and/or a tapered-nose 5th wheel trailer you could go without the extra turning clearance and use straight coupler adapter # AM3100.
