can you actually cook on the Fire Dance fire pit with the grill in place or just heat a coffee pot or do you have to use a skillet and does that mess up the pit.

Yes, you can cook on the Camco Big Red Portable Gas Campfire w/ 10' Long Hose, Item # CAM58035 with the Big Red Grill Accessory # CAM58038.

You do not place food directly on the grate. You must place food in a pot or pan and place the pot or pan on the grill.
You can also use it to heat coffee pots or tea kettles.
