Will Suspension Enhancement Help with Weight Distribution on a 2015 Ram 1500
Question:
My truck still squats some pulling my travel trailer. I use a weight distribution system already will these help with that system? My GVW towing capacity is 7900 pounds. My camper probably weighs 7000 when pulling.

Suspension enhancement like the Timbren SES Springs, # TDR1500DQ, are great for reducing sag when towing and can be used with weight distribution, but they should not be necessary if you are using a properly rated and installed weight distribution system.
If you still have squat with the weight distribution system installed, then the first thing I would look at is your total tongue weight. The total tongue weight is the loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer, plus the weight of anything behind the rear axle of your truck. This is the figure we want to use to make sure your spring bars are rated properly for your setup.
The tongue weight of your trailer should be 10 to 15 percent of the Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) if loaded properly. If we assume your trailer tongue weight is roughly 1,000 lbs, and you have another 100 lbs or so of gear in the back of your truck, then we will want to make sure your weight distribution system is rated for at least 1,200 lbs of tongue weight like the Equal-i-zer System 1,200 lbs TW, # EQ37120ET.
Another thing to consider is that the coil spring suspension on your Ram 1500 is more prone to sagging when towing compared to the traditional leaf spring suspension on other trucks. In these instances, we have found it helpful to go up to the next size system like the Equalizer System 1,400 lbs TW, # EQ37140ET.
If you can tell me your total tongue weight figure, I would be happy to make a more specific recommendation for you. I have attached help articles on weight distribution and tongue weight that you may find helpful. Keep in mind, if you find that your system is underrated for your total tongue weight figure, the spring bars can be upgraded on some systems. If you need stronger spring bars, I would be happy to find some for you if you can tell me the brand and size of your weight distribution system.
