Air Bags or Weight Distribution Hitch for towing with a 2016 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I have a 2016 Tundra 4x4 towing a 25 ft Airstream trailer. Tongue weight approx. 650 lbs and trailer GVRW is 5800 lbs. Is it redundant to have air bags AND a WD hitch? What products do you recommend? Thank you

Expert Reply:

If you have a properly rated and installed weight distribution system you won't have a need for air bags. With your trailer I recommend a system like the Equal-i-zer, part # EQ37100ET, that's rated from 600 to 1,000 pounds.

With the tongue weight of your loaded trailer plus any weight behind the rear axle of your Tunda this system is appropriate for you.
