Recommendation on a Disc Brake Kit for a Trailer that has Drums Brakes
Question:
Will this disc brake kit fit a 24foot Calkins tandom boat trailer which now has 10inch drum brakes. Lug bolts are 2-5/8inch center to center X 1/2. Do I use the existing berings, which are about 1-5/8inch diameter? Do these rotors fit over my existing hubs? Thanks for your kind help.

I will be able to tell you for sure if the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit, # K2HR35D, will work for your trailer if you can get back to me with the wheel bearing numbers and the wheel bolt pattern of your rims. The attached article will explain how to find the correct bolt patter on your wheels.
The rotors will replace the hubs you currently have installed on your trailer's axle. The kit does not include new bearings or seals, but it is recommended you replace these items at installation. It is for this reason why we need your wheel bearings to make sure we find the correct kit to fit your axles spindle. If your bearings are missing numbers, then the attached photo explains which measurements on the bearings are needed to help find the correct brake kit.
Also, changing from either electric or hydraulic drum brakes to hydraulic disc brakes, a new surge brake coupler that is rated fro disc brakes is required. I have linked a page that displays all the disc brake surge couplers that we carry. Theses couplers vary in coupler size and weight capacity.
