Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in 2015 Lexus RX 350
Question:
Hello, I have a 2015 RX 350 with the trailer package, and a two axle cargo trailer with a 7-wire connector. It seems like I have a bit of work ahead of me! It seems like Ill need a brake controller ideally proportional, not time delayed, a 4 pole to 7 pole adapter and an installation kit. Does that sound right? If so, would you be able to advise me on which specific parts you would recommend for this? Lastly, do you have any videos or instructions for the wiring setup of the brake controller, taillight, battery, etc for the Lexus RX 350? If its any help, we plan to use the trailer about 10 times per year for weekend trips. We would like quality parts, but dont need something that would stand up to daily use. Thanks for your help.

You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118255.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. I attached an install video for this on a somewhat similar Toyota SUV, but we have not had the chance to install it on a Lexus like yours.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
